Massage is one of the oldest health practices, found in ancient Chinese medical texts written some 4000 years ago. Hippocrates wrote of massage that "rubbing can bind a joint that is too loose and loosen a joint that is too rigid".
Massage therapists are educated in Anatomy, Physiology, Neurology and Kinesiology. They must also understand all of the systems of the body and how they relate to each other. In addition, they must learn Eastern and Western massage theory and techniques.
